Making Your Bedroom Beautiful

Does your bedroom feel more like a prison than the sanctuary that it should be? It’s time for a change. Each and every one of us should have a beautiful bedroom got call our own; a place where we can retreat surrounded by our favorite things. If you want to make your bedroom beautiful, but you don’t know where to start, check out these handy tips to help you along:

Subtle Color Choices

In the bedroom, you want to stay away from primary colors and bold hues, instead choosing calm, restful monochrome and pastel colors. Gentle grays, lavenders, and greens are known to induce serenity and help you relax, which h is perfect for the bedroom.

Repaint the Ceiling

The bedroom ceiling is often neglected, which is a shame because, when you’re lying in bed trying to relax, you’re more likely to end up looking at the cobwebs, peeling paint and spots of dirt. So, if you want your bedroom to be as beautiful as it can be, get up your ladder, clean the ceiling and add a nice new lick of paint. While you’re there, why not install a nice chandelier or expensive lamp shade, that will bring an extra design touch to the room, too?

Be a Bit Minimalist

You don’t have to get rid of everything but the bed, but if you want your room to be really beautiful, elegant, clean lines and plenty of space are the order of the day. If you have a lot of stuff that you simply can’t store elsewhere, invest in under-bed storage boxes and pretty storage baskets to keep your clutter out of sight, and therefore, out of mind.

Bling Up Your Bed

The bed is the focal point of most bedrooms, so it makes sense to spend some time making it look good. Bold, bright duvet covers, plump decorative pillows, cozy throws and homemade blankets will all help to make the bed look warm and inviting and bring some color and texture to the room as a whole.

Upcycle Your Furniture

If your bedroom furniture is looking a bit worse for wear, instead of sending it to landfill and spending hundreds of dollars on replacements, simply invest in some sand paper, furniture paint and varnish. You can then give your furniture a brand new facelift that will add a pretty touch to the bedroom.

Bring in Plants and Flowers

Plants and flowers are among the most beautiful of nature’s creations, so their presence is sure to make your bedroom infinitely more beautiful. Fresh flowers look particularly good and add a romantic feel to the bedroom, but plants are more cost-effective and help to purify the air, which is why I would recommend a mix of both, used sparingly in the room.

Invest in expensive Curtains

Not only will expensive looking curtains made from silk, linen or velvet look fantastic, but they will also bring some much-needed warmth to the room and help you get a good night’s sleep if they are lined.
