About jack Rabbit Creations
“At Jack Rabbit Creations, we work hard to bring you heirloom-quality toys and gifts that adults and kids love. Our products are updated twists on classics, with original art and amazing packaging. At Jack Rabbit, we prefer to use wood, tin, cotton and other natural materials for our designs, favoring a “no batteries required” approach. We are a true mom and pop shop, with husband and wife Erica and Jim Lancaster in the office and one great employee (Patty) in the warehouse. All of our products are designed by and made for Jack Rabbit exclusively, and we just sell to the specialty market – so leave the mass market behind for a little while and enjoy our creations!”
With two kids and one on the way, I like to think I have a pretty good idea of which types of toys will last and which will end up in the trash after only one kid. I have come to realize that the toys that tend to last more than one sibling are the wooden toys and they have become my most favorite type of toys to provide my children with. I am saving so much money when I purchase wooden toys because they never need to be replaced and they can be passed on to another child. With that being said, I am always on the lookout for new stores that provide these high quality wooden toys and recently discovered a wonderful shop called Jack Rabbit Creations.
My son has loved toy cars since the moment he could grasp one in his hand and he never grows tired of the endless adventures he can create with them. With my first child being a girl, I was not familiar with toy cars when my son was born and learned the hard way that many of them will not survive a toddler boy. I have thrown away more cars than I can recall due to tires, wheels, tailpipes, headlights, bumpers and other parts falling off. Many of his metal cars look ancient as they didn’t take kindly to baths and outdoor play. Looking throughout the kid’s playroom, you would think the wooden cars in there were brand new because they have aged so nicely! I was thrilled when we received a wooden Roly Polly Car and knew right away this was going to be another wooden toy that would last for many years! What I especially like about this car is the handle on top, which allows my son to get a firm grip on the car and easily push it through the house. This is also a great feature for little boys that always seem to have a car in their hand, the ones that you can’t seem to convince to put it down for five minutes. My son can carry this toy around with ease and bring it with him wherever he goes. The wheels work like perfection and my son has no problem getting from one end of the house to the other in his high speed adventures.
One of the wooden toys we reviewed (that I found to be very special to us) was the Mommy & Baby Push Toy Elephant. As you all know, we are expecting baby number three in just a few short months. This means that my little guy will no longer be the baby of the family and we have spent a lot of time preparing him for the arrival of his new baby sister. He has found so much fascination with my growing belly and enjoys giving baby sister kisses and hugs. As he was on the floor playing with the adorable mom and baby elephant, he looks up at me and explains “Mama, look! This is a baby in the mama’s belly!” and then proceeded to put the baby elephant under the mom. That absolutely melted my heart and I was so touched by the fact that he made that type of connection with his toy. Additionally, this wooden toy is very well made and the paint colors are simply beautiful. The wheels on the elephants add so much fun to this toy and allows your child to engage in a world of imagination!
Overall I was highly impressed with both of these products and I am so happy to have discovered Jack Rabbit Creations. I believe that it is important to support our local mom and pop stores and this one just so happens to be about an hour away from my home. So please take a moment today to visit the Jack Rabbit Creations website and see for yourself all of the great quality toys they have to offer!

The elephant is so cute and it’s great that you son understands about his new sister.
I think this toy is adorable! Perfect for little hands, and I know my son especially loves pushing things around the house! Plus mommy and baby elephant are so cute!
I love wooden toys! They are so classic and are just the essence of being a kid to me. Love these.
