Sausage and Potato Breakfast Hash

Sausage and Potato Breakfast Hash I’m sharing #SausageFamily in my life as part of a Johnsonville sponsored series for Socialstars™

Hash is va very popular breakfast dish at our house, but I simply despise having to purchase it out of the can. The hash is never fresh tasting and is packed full of sodium and preservatives. So I am always looking for ways to make recipes from scratch at home. I decided to create a sausage and potato breakfast hash that is both simple, quick and scrumptious! I also wanted to keep the ingredient list very short. The results? This breakfast hash dish came out perfect and my entire family loved it!

The first step in this recipe is to find a sausage that you love. For this recipe I used the Johnsonville raw breakfast sausages, which are not only delicious, but make this a quick dish to cook up in the morning. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day that many people skip out on because they just don’t have time to make it. These delicious sausages are ready in less than 15 minutes!

Next you are going to want to grab about 3-4 sausages and remove them from the casing. Crumble them up in your hands into a pan, then cook them on the on a stick skillet at medium-lows heat for about 12-16 minutes. Remove them from the stove top and rinse them in the sink. Set aside.

You will then need to peel, rinse and chop about 3 medium sized potatoes. If you are short on time, you can skip peeling the skin. Make sure to chop them into very small squares, they will cook much faster. Heat the pan to medium-high heat. Season your potatoes with salt and pepper. Saute them until potatoes are golden brown and tender, about 10-15 minutes. Stir often, but make sure the potatoes stay in a single layer as they cook.

Once your potatoes are cooked, stir in the sausage and some finely chopped fresh parley. Cook for about 1 more minute… then you are ready to enjoy a delicious dish of potato and sausage breakfast hash! Easy right? Wait until you see how they taste… yum!
