Homemade Sparkling Watermelon Lemonade
I am always seeking inspiration for healthy drinks that can be enjoyed by the entire family! I have recently been obsessed with lemonade and make a fresh glass at least five times a day. After a month or so of enjoying just plain old lemonade, I decided it was time to change it up a bit and attempt something new. The wonderful world wide web eventually led me to a recipe for homemade sparkling watermelon lemonade. During my weekly grocery trip to Kroger, I came across this fabulous brand called Vintage Sparkling Water and just knew it would be the perfect way to add variation to my new recipe. Vintage Sparkling Water has limited distribution in Kroger and King Soopers in Atlanta, Denver, and Nashville, so make sure to check the out product locator page where you can search by zip code.
Vintage Sparkling Water is available in six delicious flavors; Cucumber Melon, Lime, Lemon, Original, Pink Grapefruit, and Coconut. These drinks are made with natural flavors, are a gluten-free, and contain no artificial flavors or added colors or dyes. Finding a guilt free drink that is both natural, healthy and delicious is a very rare product indeed, but I am quite confident I have discovered it!
Now it’s time to take advantage of this amazing beverage and see what we can create! Whether you decide to change up your drink with the original Vintage Sparkling water, or mix it with one of their delicious naturally flavored drinks, it doesn’t matter because I guarantee your taste buds will be happy either way! For this particular recipe you will need to gather up the following:
- 2 Cups of cubed watermelon
- 3 lemons
- ¼ cup of Stevia in the Raw or other sweetener
- 1 Liter (about three 12oz Cans) of Vintage Sparkling Water
- Juice watermelon and lemons.
- Mix juice with the Stevia
- Add Vintage Sparkling Water.
How simple was that!? Now you have a delicious and healthy summer drink that each and every person in the family can enjoy! My kids just loved this, they are not aloud to have any soda, and they felt as if they were getting a special treat with this carbonated beverage. As a mother it made me feel great knowing I was serving them a healthy treat that they enjoyed, and I was pleased to be sipping on a guilt free drink!
It has been awhile since I enjoyed a sparkling water and I was a bit curious about the difference between seltzer and sparkling water. Vintage Sparkling Water and seltzers both offer up some pretty awesome key benefits: zero calories, sugar-free, no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors, no high-fructose corn syrup, and are made from natural fruit flavors. But to put in plain and simple, the difference between the two is the amount of those happy little bubbles that we all love and enjoy throughout our beverage. If you are one of those people (such as myself) whom loves your drink overflowing with bubbles, then your best option is a Vintage Sparkling Water!
So what are you waiting for? Head over to your local Kroger store, I am always so pleased with their prices and convenience of finding everything I need! You will find the Vintage Sparkling Water alongside all of the water products, you can not miss their attractive packaging! There is only a month or so left to enjoy our favorite summer beverages in the warmth of the sun. Consider serving this up at your next pool party, or the neighborhood barbecue.
I would love to know if you tried this recipe out and what you thought. Did you mix the recipe up a bit? I would love to know how! Are you enjoying the Vintage Sparkling Water all on its own? What do you think!?
