My Review of the HABA Silicone Popsicle Tray
The weather has been beautiful this month in Georgia and the children are loving the luxury of eating dinner on the deck and indulging in special cold treats for dessert. I have been struggling to find popsicles at the grocery store that are both healthy and delicious. I was excited to discover a box of popsicles last week that were labeled “sugar free” and had some great flavors. Unfortunately, they were very bland and basically just tasted like lightly flavored ice. I decided that it would probably be best to simply make our own, that way I can have full control over the ingredients and the kids could choose their favorite flavors. I was delighted to find that HABA USA offers a wonderful selection of bright, fun and convenient baking and freezing silicone molds. We could not wait to try out their silicone popsicle tray and see if that could essentially replace having to purchase popsicles at the store.
This tray is so incredibly easy to work with because it is made from silicone. You can easily fill with fruit and juice, transfer to the freezer and then take out when frozen without making a major mess. The popsicle sticks are really easy to pop out of the mold and each one is its very own fun and unique shape. The sticks are perfect for little hands and when using them this afternoon, my three year old actually pointed something out to me! He was so excited to inform me that the popsicles don’t fall down like the other ones. You know what he is preferring to right? When you are on your last few bites of a popsicle and it suddenly slides down to your hand and crumbles to the ground. The popsicle stick from this HABA set actually has a bowl like feature, which catches all of the liquids and fruit. Very observant three year old, I must admit, hehe!
How to Make Healthy Homemade Popsicles With The HABA Silicone Popsicle Tray
The Silicone Popsicle Tray could not have been introduced to our lives at a more perfect time. We had just purchased a ton of fresh strawberries and pineapple (that were on sale at the grocery store) and had it all cut up in the refrigerator for the kids to eat as they pleased. I went to Target last night and picked out a couple juices to try and came across the V8 splash berry blend, which is both delicious and healthy. There really isn’t a whole lot of direction to give when it comes to making the popsicles. You simply add your favorite fruit (in any combination you prefer) and then add the juice. Place the tray in the freezer and take out when it is ready.
There you have it! The result is a mouth watering, cold, delicious and healthy popsicle that doesn’t leave you feeling guilty after consuming a handful! These came out absolutely perfect and our family just loved them. I can not wait to try different recipes with this tray, as you can even fill them with yogurt and make a delicious dessert. This is going to be such a great product to have this summer and I highly recommend you try it for yourself!
Is that not a face of satisfaction? He was so proud of the delicious treat he helped prepare!
