How To Turn Your House Into A Smart Home

We are a modern family that has a love for technology and are always on the lookout for the newest products! A few months ago we were able to see a demonstration of smart home technology for the family and since then I have been itching to get some of those products installed in our home. I was expecting for this to be a far more complicated process than it actually is. Turns out that you can easily make your home smarter with artificial intelligence appliances and even the modest tech savvy fans will have no trouble making the switch.

We have recently added three amazing smart home products to the house;  the TP-Link Smart HS105 smart plug with energy monitor, LB 130 smart Wi-Fi bulb, and HS200 smart switch. Now the product that really stood out to our family when we were able to see demonstrations of these products was the smart Wi-Fi bulb. I am going to get a little more into depth about this product because it is currently a huge hit in out home and everyone is loving it!

The Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb with Color Changing Hue allows you to control your lights from anywhere with your tablet or smartphone using the free Kasa app (iOS, Android).

Color Changing Hue displays up to 16 million colors, you can adjust the brightness, as well as light appearance from soft white (2700k) to daylight (9000k).

We have really enjoyed the feature that allows us to pair the bulb to our Amazon Alexa and to enable voice control. You can connect the bulb directly to your Wi-Fi at home, adjust light intensity and temperature to mimic natural light patterns, and reduce energy use up to 80% without brightness or quality loss compared to a 60W incandescent bulb!

What is so great about the TP-Link’s link of Smart Home products is that they so incredibly affordable and very easy to install. These products also offer seamless compatibility with Amazon Echo, Dot, Tap… we have had a perfect experience with pairing these products with our Amazon Echo.

Are you convinced yet? Now that you know how simple and affordable it is to turn your house into a smart home… what are you waiting for!? Visit TP-Link to learn more about their affordable, wifi-friendly line of Smart Home products, and use code TPLinkSmart for 20% off your purchase through 31 Dec 2016.

If your household is already sold on the boundless capabilities of smart home gadgets, the next logical leap is to begin looking into smart home automation. Having smart appliances, such as a refrigerator that recognizes when you are running low on groceries and can intelligently create your next supermarket shopping list, is no longer the stuff of science fiction.

Another incredibly useful aspect for smart devices is its powerful uses for home security: many individuals have found it worthwhile to invest in state-of-the-art security cameras with footage that can be accessed and viewed through a mobile app in real time, or smart sensors that can quickly notify you if there are flood or gas leaks while you aren’t home.

A household that invests in custom smart home automation systems also reaps the benefits of increasing the overall property value of their home. It’s a no-brainer to understand that the more smart capabilities a home has, the more appealing it is for real estate.

We hope you enjoy the video down below, the Smart Bulb in action and just a fraction of the color hues available!

  3. Pretty good post, Heather. I love customizing my lighting (both in brightness levels and color/quality of it too) and these would make great additions.

The ability to do things like turn on a small heater while before you leave work so you can come home to a warmer home is pretty cool (using smart connected products to control an outlet, for example).

    Thanks.
