I must confess something to you all… I have the best momma in the entire world! She is truly the most caring and selfless person I have ever known, he heart knows no limits. I could write an entire post just on her countless acts of generosity, she volunteers all of free time helping those most in need. Yet she still has time to be an amazing mother to her four children and three grandchildren. February of last year my husband’s work moved us to Georgia, which left us on the opposite side of the country. My mother was able to visit us that summer and spend a month with us while we waited for baby #3 to arrive. We created so many wonderful memories during her visit and my mother and I even provided her with the best birthday she has ever received… a grandbaby! Yes, you read that correct, on the morning of her birthday I went into labor and welcomed my beautiful baby girl just several hours later. You can only imagine how elated my mother was to have had her granddaughter born on her birthday! There really is no topping that gift and I really have my work cut out for me now! I recently discovered the “One-Stop Shop” by American Greetings at Walmart, which was actually the perfect place to have the kids pick gifts out for her. My mother loves home decor items, but what she loves even more are items that her grandkids pick out for her. My mother is such a great gift receiver, one of those people that you love gifting because you can tell that they are truly grateful that you got them something. In all honesty she is one of my favorite people to gift because she always seems so pleased with it, no matter how big or small. I would have to say that her most favorite part of the gift is the card and I always spend a substantial amount of time finding one that is meaningful and relates to her. This wasn’t difficult at all because American Greetings has an impressive collection of heartfelt card for Mother’s Day.
We love to gift each other owl products and I came across this elegant jewelry holder, featuring a sweet little owl. She can hang her necklaces from the branches or place her earrings in the bowl, either way this is going to be a great piece of decor for the dresser.
I am a huge activist for supporter our local small businesses when we can and I found a great way to do that for Mother’s Day. In the adorable gift box I found in the the “One-Stop Shop” by American Greetings at Walmart, I placed some bars of soap that came from a local shop. My mother loves bath and body products and I thought it would be a great way to introduce her to some of my favorite natural soap products while supporting a local business.
My mother is always telling me that she doesn’t want me spending a lot of money on her during holidays, she really wants me to keep it thoughtful and inexpensive. Thankfully American Greetings has made it possible for me to find quality and affordable gifts that I know my mother will treasure for many years to come.
I was so pleased with what the kids and I were able to find and that there were so many beautiful item to choose from, all under five dollar. The gift boxes are perfect for adding a little personal touch to the gift. You could add some of mom’s favorite candies, or make your own bath bombs… the possibilities are endless!
