What Is Cannabidiol?

What Is Cannabidiol?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is having a moment. Shelves are stocked with many various CBD-infused products and wellness Instagrammers swear by the benefits that it offers. With all of the talk, it is challenging to know which products are right for you. Keep reading to learn more about what CBD is, if it’s legal where you live, and what the benefits are.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, CBD for short, is naturally derived from the cannabis flower. Like delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is also a compound of the Cannabis plant. While CBD is often mistaken with THC, it’s important to know that they offer completely different benefits.

Don’t worry, your favorite Instagrammer isn’t lying to you. Unlike THC, CBD does not give that “high” or intoxicated feeling when used. CBD is non-psychoactive and acts differently on the receptors in your brain and body. Visit https://novusbars.com/ to get more information.

CBD and THC share some similarities, including their ability to aid in therapeutic efforts and provide relief to physical pain and mental challenges. However, its ability to be used topically makes it appealing to those looking for help with inflammation and skin allergies, along with cosmetic problems. While most people use CBD topically for beauty purposes, it’s also important to note that CBD is also digestible.

In the past, CBD has gotten a bad reputation due to the stigma around marijuana. Recently, people are starting to realize that CBD and THC are very different from each other, and unlike THC, CBD offers a multitude of health and beauty benefits. The health and science communities are paving the path to deem CBD as a safe and natural alternative to modern, chemically-filled skin and beauty treatments. This is why products like Wholesale CBD Edibles and CBD beauty products are now widely available and popular online!

Is CBD Legal?

The conversation around the legality of CBD has drastically shifted in the past few years. In 2014, the Farm Bill passed defining exactly what the legal guidelines around CBD usage and distribution are. This bill enabled state governments the right to grow and research industrial hemp under state-regulated programs. Additionally, the bill officially separated THC from CBD by stating that any hemp-derived products with less than .3% THC are separated from marijuana.

Updated in 2018, the Farm Bill included language that legalized the growing, producing, consuming, and selling hemp-based products in all 50 states. This guaranteed that any industrial hemp products contained less than .3% THC, per Congress’ decision. However, this bill does not include the legalization of CBD products derived from marijuana, as those laws vary by state.

Along with selling and consuming, the updated 2018 bill included the ability to travel with CBD that has less than .3% THC. As stated in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Medical Marijuana Policy, “Marijuana and certain cannabis-infused products remain illegal under federal law except for products that contain no more than 0.3% THC on a dry weight basis or that are approved by the FDA.”

What are the Benefits of CBD?

CBD has gained massive popularity in the wellness and beauty space, and rightfully so. The hemp-derived oil has been proven to help with many conditions ranging from complexion to hair. Full of essential fatty acids, along with omega-3’s and omega-6’s, CBD oil may be your saving grace for all of your cosmetic needs.

Research and evidence continue to rise as more and more doctors and scientists are realizing just how impactful CBD can be in the wellness space. Included in CBD’s benefits are:

  • Collagen Production
  • Anti-Aging
  • Acne Treatments
  • Inflammation Reduction
  • Anti-Eczema and Rosacea Properties
  • Hair Growth

CBD is rich in a variety of vitamins, including A, C, and E. According to board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Debra Jaliman, these vitamins promote cell stimulation, collagen production, and blockage of free radicals which has been proven to help with many of the above beauty issues.

  3. I have been searching a lot of articles about cannabidiol but this one is informative. But Sadly, it has no legal value in many states until now. I think this could be a successful medicine in these states if it is access properly. Thanks for sharing this great advice with us!
