The 4 Biggest Diaper Issues & How To Resolve Them
A special thanks to Target up & up™ Diapers for sponsoring today’s conversation! All the thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are purely my own. #upandupdiapers
You spend the first couple of years with your child in diapers and there are always issues that arise. Whether it’s leaks or diaper rashes causing you trouble, there is bound to be a bump in the road when it comes to diapering your baby. Today I am going to share with you four of the biggies diaper issues and how to easily resolve them!
Problem #1: Leaky Diapers
Leaky diapers are the absolute worse and can cause not only lots of difficult messes to clean, but a cranky and wet baby. Leaky diapers often occur during long naps or overnight, those times where your baby is in a diaper for extended periods of time. There are so many diapers out there that are not designed to keep baby leak free for extended periods of time. You should also keep in mind to purchase diapers not based on your child’s age, but their weight. This will ensure that your baby is wearing a diaper that properly fits them, while leaving you room to properly adjust it to their shape. You also want to make sure the diaper you are using contains two elastic bands around the waist for added security. You can also check learn about more products that will help with all of your diapering and bathing needs.
Problem #2: Diaper Rash
Diaper rash is one of the most common skin conditions in the United States and most children experience it at some time during the first three years of life. Diaper rash generally happens when the skin covered by the diaper is wet or soiled for too long. You can help to eliminate the occurrence of diaper rash by making sure you are changing your baby when they are wet and changing them as frequently as possible.
Problem #3: Comfort
When your baby is growing they will change diaper sizes frequently so always check to make sure that their diaper isn’t too small for them. A proper sized diaper will have room and there will be space when pulling the elastic back from your baby’s waist. Another way to know that your baby’s diaper is too small is when it leaves mark’s on your baby’s skin. If your baby is in between sizes (too small to go up a size but getting too big for their current size) my suggestion is that you go for the bigger size. You can always adjust the larger diaper to fit your baby, which is better than trying to squeeze them into a diaper which may leave them uncomfortable.
Problem #4: The Cost
Diapers are one of the biggest expenses as a new parent! As a new parent you may be under the assumption that the higher costing diapers are the best quality… as a mother that is currently diaper her third child, I can assure you that it’s not always the case. You will be surprised how similar they are to cheaper diapers and you will come to realize you are basically just paying for the brand name. You can save big and cut down your expense by going with diapers that are both good quality and affordable! One brand that I am very fond of is Target’s up & up™ diapers, the quality and prices do not compare!
The up & up™ Diapers are so inexpensive and I am always finding a coupon for them in the Target Cartwheel ap. But what impresses me most about these diapers is the amazing quality! The now contain a new breathable outer cover that is soft to the touch and help’s your baby to stay drier. The diaper’s new quilted, ultra-absorbent core provides enhanced softness and the unique design keeps the wetness locked away in order to help protect your baby’s healthy skin. Remember how we discussed leaking diapers being one of the biggest diaper issues? Well these diapers provide up to 12 hours of leak protection! While it’s best to change your baby frequently during the day, the last thing you want is to wake you sweet baby during the night for a diaper change. That is why this feature is so important.
Another great feature is the hypoallergenic inner liner on diaper sizes Newborn through 2, which is clinically proven gentle on skin. The diapers that are sizes 3 through 6 feature a Gentletouch+ dryness liner (featured in the image above) which is soft and gentle and also hypoallergenic.
These diapers are truly ideal for eliminating an diaper issues you may be having!
