Sweet Treat For The Summer Heat: Yogurt Dipped Pretzels
All three of my kids are yogurt fanatics, they could eat it all day every day and never get sick of it. I am always looking for summer snack ideas and fun new ways to spruce up their yogurt experience, something a bit more different than granola or oats. If there is one thing I have learned as a mother over the past 9 years is that kids love to dip their food in stuff. So I thought to myself, why not make yogurt their dip of choice and pair it up with one of their favorite snacks… pretzels! So came about the creation of this sweet treat for the summer heat… yogurt dipped pretzels. This ended up being a huge hit with the kids and ultimately a duo that they enjoy quite often these days.
Finding a healthy yogurt for the kids is very important to me and I won’t purchase it if it’s loaded with sugar. Yoplait Original yogurt has recently launched a collection of yogurt that contains 25% less sugar. Yoplait has always provided great-tasting yogurt that I can feel good about my kids eating. But now I can feel even better knowing they have significantly reduced the amount of sugar in the yogurt.
Another great thing about Yoplait is that they don’t use high-fructose corn syrup or milk cows treated with rBST. They have also been working diligently the past three years in order to reduce the amount of sugar in Yoplait Original. They have actually tried over a hundred recipe variations before getting achieving yogurt that delivered less sugar without sacrificing the delicious taste.
The kids picked out some of their all time favorite Yoplait flavors, which included strawberry, peach and blueberry. They truly enjoy the generous amounts of fruit found all throughout the yogurt. Finding a yogurt that is both delicious and healthy for my kids makes me feel great, as a mother I feel like I have won this particular battle when it comes to healthy snacking. The last thing I want is to bicker with kids to eat their healthy snacks, Yoplait Original makes it so the kids are begging me for more healthy goodness! If your kids aren’t into dipping pretzels with their yogurt, use your imagination and try something different. Fruit sticks, goldfish, crackers, saltines, graham crackers… the possibilities are endless!
