Mummy Dogs: A Simple & Spooky Halloween Recipe
Are you looking for a simple and spooky Halloween recipes that the whole family will enjoy? Well look no further because these mummy dogs are guaranteed to be a hit at your next Halloween party. You only need 4 ingredients, short prep time, and just 15 minutes in the over until they’re ready to enjoy! All three of my children are a huge fan of these and I swear they could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So let’s take a look at how simple it actually is to create this eerie meal.
For this recipe, all you are going to need is a pack of Pillsbury Original Crescents, a package of your favorite brand of hot dogs and a few slices of cheddar cheese.
Open up the Pillsbury Original Crescents and unroll the dough, hen separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Make sure to press perforations to seal.
With a knife or kitchen scissors or pizza cutter, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough. Slice the cheese slices into quarters (1/2 slice cheese, cut in half).
Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog and 1/4 slice of cheese to look like “bandages,” stretching dough slightly to completely cover hot dog. About 1/2 inch from one end of each hot dog, separate “bandages” so hot dog shows through for “face.” On ungreased large cookie sheet, place wrapped hot dogs (cheese side down) and then lightly spray dough with cooking spray.
Bake your mummy dogs for 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and hot dogs are hot. Finally, with mustard, draw eyes on the “face” to complete your mummy dogs.
Now you are ready to enjoy a spooky Halloween treat with the family. How easy was that?! Mummy dogs are quick and easy to make, and sure to please all the kids at home, or even the whole neighborhood. The recipe is great for larger Halloween parties, or simply at home with your kids to bring some excitement to the days leading up to Halloween.
