How To Feel Your Best At Work

How To Feel Your Best At WorkNow, if it were up to us we’d be able to pick and choose when we worked, which would make it much easier for us to feel comfortable. However, that’s probably not an option: we need to work whether we feel like it or not, and even when those times when we don’t feel our best. However, you don’t have to readily submit to the physical discomfort of working long hours, oh no! You can fight back. By making a few adjustments to how you work, you can get through the day unscathed.

Dress for Comfort

Your job will probably have a dress code, but it’s probably more flexible than you imagine. We’re sure there’s not a required for you to wear the most uncomfortable clothing you can find! The key here is to dress with your comfort in mind, and not as if your fashion credibility is on the line each and every day. Also, you should have some different outfits to your name, which you can wear depending on the weather. If you’re comfortable in what you’re wearing, then you’re less likely to need to run home at the end of the day.

Tired Feet Remedies

If you’re on your feet a lot of the time, then it’s extra important that you take steps to prevent any feelings of discomfort. Wearing compression socks for women can make being on your feet all day more bearable, as can wearing shoes that are the right size for your feet. Even if you have socks and comfortable shoes, you should also be making sure you take regular breaks. You can’t support your weight all day without feeling the strain.

Too Much Screen Time

If you work at a computer, then there’s another you need to think about: the computer itself, which can cause you more harm than you realize. For one, staring at a screen for too long can cause eye strain, which is unpleasant and will affect you even after you’ve left work. To solve this issue, use the 20/20/20 rule. Every twenty minutes, staring at a distance twenty feet away for twenty seconds. Also, if you’re typing a lot, learn to do it properly! You’ll avoid wrist and other pain.

Outside of the Office

There’s only so much you can do while you’re at work. As such, you need to prepare for your working life by doing things away from the office, too. Walking to work, going for a run at the end of the day, and preparing foods that boost your all round health will all combine to limit the negative health effects of working all day long.

Mix It Up

It’s important that you avoid falling into a routine that’s too steady while you’re at work. If you sit all day long, mix it up by spending an hour or two using a standing desk. Change your lunch routine so that it involves more exercise, and where possible use good old pen and paper rather than the computer. Every little help!
