I am a planer when it comes to grocery shopping! I make sure to figure out all of my meals and only shop for food that will coincide with the recipes for that week. I also check the weekly grocery store flyer and will plan my meals according to what is on sale. So there I am in the grocery store, towards the end of my shopping list, and I see some pot roasts with instant in store savings on them! I of course had to grab one since they were marked down $2.50. I get home with my groceries and soon realize I don’t have anything to cook with my pot roast, as it was a spur of the moment buy. After a little research on the computer, I came across this simple recipe and I just so happened to have the two additional ingredients! You can go with any soda you like, I went with coke simply because it was the only soda I had in my refrigerator at the time.

This deliciously simple recipe only requires three ingredients!

1 Pot Roast

1 Envelope of Onion Soup Mix

1 Cup of Your Favorite Soda

Place the pot roast in the crock pot, pour 1-2 cups of soda (personal preference) and sprinkle the onion soup mix over your pot roast. Cook on low 6-8 hours.

This pot roast came out amazing, the flavor was strong and the meat was juicy. I rarely find a simple recipe that turns out this great and I am so excited!

Now it’s your turn Miss Frugal Mommy fans!

Make this delicious pot roast and tell me what soda you used and how it came out!
