My Review
I recently had the opportunity to review a product that I have always wanted to try, an Aroma 20-Cup Digital Rice Cooker! We are huge fans of rice in our home and typically have it three times a week with our dinners. Cooking rice on the stop can be very time consuming and I always seem to forget to make it last minute, so dinner gets held up over the uncooked rice. My mother had asked for a rice cooker a few winters ago and once she had one, she would tell me all the time how much she loved it! So you can only imagine how excited I was to have one of my very own and you can guarantee I had rice cooking in it the day I received it. The first feature that I noticed upon using the rice cooker was that it heats up so incredibly fast. I was so surprised at how fast it not only heated up, but the short time it took to cook the rice. This is also I really easy product to keep clean and I had no problems getting the rice off with a little soap and water. What intrigues me most about this product is that it’s also a food steamer… oh the delicious vegetables I have in store to cook in the future. My first recipe to try out was some homemade apple sauce. I figured this would take the entire day to cook, as it typically does in a crocpot. However the kids and I were ecstatic once I discovered that it was done within a few hours. As you can see in the pictures below, it came out exceptionally delicious and I can’t wait to make another batch. Overall I am 100% satisfied with this product and I can’t believe I went so many years without having one… my kitchen would just not be complete without it!

Huh, I always thought these things were kind of a waste to have, but it sounds like they are much better than making rice (Or steamed veggies) on the stove in a regular old pot. Thanks!
My kids and I love rice. Growing up my Dad would fix it for breakfast and we would put sugar, nutmeg and milk on it. I really like the fact that this can be used to cook so many other things.

This is exactly what I need. I do a lot of Oriental cooking (especially Japanese) and my current rice cooker is completely worn out (not to mention too small – only about half the capacity of this one). I love how it’s programmable, too.
Genius idea to try to make apple sauce in the rice cooker! That is something that I never would have thought of doing, but it seems like such a great idea. Thank you for your review! It makes me happy that this product allows you to cook meat and vegetables simultaneously with the rice.

I love that it cooks so quickly. I forget to add the rice into our meals also and end up doing a quick butter noodle fix for the meal… when you have hungry teenage boys, they aren’t going to wait for rice! LOL! You made homemade applesauce in it also? I didn’t know that you could even do that. I love this rice cooker!

i like that you can steam meats and veggies while the rice cooks below it! it makes for a hands free dinner! it would be great when i am busy or just don’t feel like cooking. and it holds a lot!

This is a really nice cooker. I love the controls and digital timer. It it a nice size as well. I would definitely take a look at this one when I am looking for a new cooker.

This would be perfect for my daughter who has trouble making rice and it is so easy to use. I like that you can also steam in it.
I love that it allows for a 15 hour delay. That would definitely help my family stop eating out as much when we’re tired later at night and don’t want to cook. It’d just be timed and done! I also would not have thought to do applesauce in it. That is pretty clever.
A rice cooker seems handy, but being able to make applesauce in it is a real selling point in my book!
I love this making apple sauce would be wonderful in it . My son only eats gluten free so I didn’t know you could do this I will have to check into the other recipes you can use with it.

This is a great product, I currently own the smaller one and it is excellent for steaming vegetables. Heres a tip, soak your veggies in seasoned water for extra flavor!
This rice cooker is large and would work well for my family. We eat rice at least 3 times a week and this would be a God send!
I cook rice at least 4 times a week, but I suck at getting the consistency right every time. This would make rice a set it and forget it food!
I am like you, I have never owned a rice cooker! And I love rice!! I love the fact that you also tried other types of foods in the Rice Cooker with success and in great time! I have a friend that cooks everything in hers and I would love to have one for myself! Also I saw in a comment above I cannot cook rice to save my life and I love rice! Jambalaya!! I cook Jambalaya down here on the bayou in Louisiana, and I use rice cookers but it doesn’t quite turn out the way I want, alsmost but not quite there. I would like to try this rice cooker, and promote it at the Jambalaya cookoffs I always enter

I never thought to try other foods in my own rice cooker (which is ancient and nowhere NEAR as fast or versatile as this one is)! I will have to see if I can make applesauce in mine. For now I’m eyeing this model, and trying to figure out if I can save up enough to get one for myself, hehe…
