Shortly after welcoming my first two children into this world, I was that women everyone despised for instantly shedding all the baby weight. I remember being back into my regular jeans in just a week with my first daughter, and eventually I ended up weighing less than before I was pregnant. You are probably rolling your eyes right now, but I promise you friends, that amazing metabolism I once had did not follow me with baby number three. I had my third baby with unrealistic expectations and assuming I would magically shed all those pounds. I keep telling myself I will get serious with a diet and a workout routine… but three kids and a full time blogging job… it just seems so impossible. So let’s get back to that awful baby weight that my body is selfishly holding onto! Looking back at my first two kids, I realized I had more time to stay fit and eat healthy. Now that I have three little ones to care for, I feel like I am either too busy or too exhausted to do a single jumping jack. I really lacked the energy and motivation and something needed to change! This free app allows you to keep track of all your food intake and activity. It will calculate your calories, inform you of how many calories you have burned and it will help you select a reasonable weight loss plan. I must tell you that keeping a food diary and being able to visually see what you are eating on a daily basis is quite an eye opener. This really allows you to make better choices and eat on a schedule. If you are eating the recommended three courses and healthy snacks in between, you will really start to see some weight loss. This app is by far my favorite and one I have personally begun using!
The Garmin Fit app turns your smartphone into a powerful fitness training tool. It uses your smartphone’s GPS to track your movements and will provide you with your current speed, distance traveled, elapsed time and calories burned. The built-in music features allows you to select all of your favorite jams to listne to while doing your workout. Once your workout is done, your data is automatically updated to Garmin Connect. You are then able to view your route on a map and easily track your progress. Feeling proud of your accomplishment? You can easily share your workouts with others from the app!
For those of you that love to run and keep track of the wonderful miles you are able to trek, this app is for you! The Nike+ Running App keeps track of all of your runs and helps you reach your goals. Whether you are a modest runner such as myself, training for your first race, or setting a new personal record, this app is made to work with different skill levels. This app combines your phone’s GPS and accelerometer for the most accurate tracking of your distance, pace and time. Measure your progress every mile with in-run audio feedback.
Fitocracy give you the motivation you need while pelping you to succeed in a fitness plan. For those of you that have never been intrigued by workouts, this app does its best to make exercising fun! You can track your workouts, earn points, unlock achievements, and beat quests. The workout tracker allows you to earn points and level up. You are then able to complete Quests for bonus points and earn badges by reaching milestones. So delete all of those mindless apps and get yourself into one that will actually change your life and make you feel good!

Utilize the tools that are already in front of you, most of us can’t leave the room without our cell phone in hand.
