There about two months in Georgia where the weather outside is so hot and humid that the we are forced to find indoor activities. Then suddenly fall greets us with the warm and comfortable climate that actually allows us to enjoy the outdoors. The kids and I fully take advantage of this less harsh temperatures and use any excuse to get out in the yard and have fun. With my older kids back to school, my toddler and I have been trying to find fun and education outdoor games. I was recently inspired to create a learning game with my daughter’s favorite snack… none other than Goldfish crackers! I wanted to create something that was simple and anyone could put together for their child in minutes!
All you need to create this educational snack time is your child’s favorite Goldfish, paper and some markers!
So why did I choose Goldfish crackers for this fun game? Because they are always baked with 100% real cheese, they contain no artificial flavors or preservatives, and the colors are sourced from plants, such as annatto extracted from the reddish seeds of the Achiote Tree. They are also baked with whole grain cheddar and contain 12g of WG per serving… this is a snack that I always feel good about serving to my kids!
Creating the learning sheets are super easy, get as creative as you want! Since my daughter is only two years old, I kept them a bit simpler and tried to focus on just a few numbers at a time.
This was such a simple and fun way to introduce a number games to my toddler. I would have to say that the sheet with all of the circles was her favorite. Watching her very patiently place a Goldfish into each circle (while counting) was the most adorable thing ever… we both had plenty of smiles on our face that afternoon.
If you are looking for an excuse to get outdoors and have some low-key fun, this is defiantly the way to go.
