Discover How You Can Successfully Make Money On Your Blog
So you finally have your blog up and running, congratulations, welcome to the world of blogging! Now you are starting to get into the swing of things but aren’t quite sure how to make money on your blog. I get asked this question a lot and let me tell you in all honesty, it does not happen overnight. Making a consistent income on your blog takes a lot of work, time and dedication. Here are a few very important tips I would like to pass along to you that has helped me over the years:
Tips For Making Money On Your Bog:
- Don’t work for free! You time is valuable, so please do not let PR companies bully you into working for free just because you are new. You would never expect to walk into any job and not get paid at the end of the week, so do not treat your blog any differently. The sooner you realize this the better because you will build a sense of confidence when it comes to dealing with those PR companies trying to solicit you for free work and advertisement. If you still can’t get that PR company to understand that your time is not free (which will happen quite often) then respectfully decline your service because that company clearly does not respect you… not worth your time!
- Be a rock star blogger! Be consistent, keep good communication with PR reps and get your work done on time or in a timely manner. This may seem a bit blunt and obvious, but after working closely in a few sponsored networks, I have seen far too many bloggers be consistently late with their work and flat out ignore the PR rep when it comes to keeping them in the loop. Life happens, emergencies occur, some days don’t have enough hours… trust me I get it, I am a stay at home mom to three kids (one just a baby) and my husband travels a lot… I get it! But making sure you don’t take on more than you can chew, getting organized and setting schedule for yourself is critical for getting your work done on schedule.
- Establish yourself in a few sponsored networks: When you first start blogging I can understand that you will want to nab up every single sponsored post opportunity you can get your hands on. My best advice to you is to refrain from that, especially if it doesn’t pertain to your blog’s niche. Your blog will start to get too spammed with random sponsored content, your audience and readership will decline and it begins a cascading effect. Pick just a couple sponsored networks that you love and work your heart out on each post! Those companies will notice your hard work and in turn your chances of getting selected for future campaigns will increase. A few of my most favorite places to do sponsored post is Social Fabric… I could go on and on about them, not just for their fun and engaging campaigns, but for the amazing community and resources that have helped me grow and improve as a blogger. Their campaigns are also very creative and unique, they don’t come off as sponsored whatsoever, you can see one of my Social Fabric posts to get a general idea of what they are like.

The first program you are going to want to sign up for is an affiliate program. I discovered a huge error in my ways when I began blogging… and that was… I was signing up for too many affiliate programs! You will get bombarded with all types of emails from companies that will want you to join them and the offers will be very tempting. However, I suggest sticking to one or two affialiate programs that best suit your readership and fan base… don’t overwhelm yourself! I love ShareASale because they work with a vast number of companies and it is simple for me to find ones that fit my niche. Another fantastic perk about ShareASale is that many of the merchants provide easy posts for you to copy and paste and they will pay $5, $10 or $20 each time you post them to your blog. $5 may not sound like a lot, but when you get about 2 a week from each of these various merchants, it really starts to add up! I have had so many new bloggers thank me for encouraging them to sign up with SharaASale and ecstatic by that lump of cash they earn each month!
Here is a list of merchants to sign up with to get you started:
- Warby Parker
- Gymboree
- Adidas
- Karina Dresses
- Agnitus

Your welcome! Let me know if you have any questions! 🙂
I checked out the Sponsored Giveaway place….have you used them personally? I ask because while their website looks professional, the writing is atrocious. Not professional at all.
I had a handful of bloggers claim they were making money from it. The website is still pretty new… I have yet to earn a cent so I am not so sure how successful it will be. I am having doubts now…
