Last Thursday my husband informed me that he had just booked a flight for Minnesota (for work) and would be leaving Sunday. He travel a lot for work so this usually isn’t that big of a deal, just another business trip, except the following Monday was spring break. Spring break means I will be home with all three kids (one a very fussy and teething baby) and my husband would not be returning until late Friday night. All of spring break… alone… surviving without a single helping hand since my entire family lives on the opposite side of the country. The week will entail being the referee to the two older kids, changing diapers, nursing, cooking, cleaning, bathing, cooking, grocery shopping, laundry, cooking and repeat! Cooking for two children that seem to be starving every hour is quite time consuming, especially when you have a baby to nurse. Some days when I have a millisecond of a moment to sit and refocus, that wave of fatigue hits me and I realize I forgot to feed myself! The thought of having to cook for myself after all that craziness just makes me plain grumpy. Except I have discovered a great way to kick that hunger pain to the curb during the day… this is just one mother’s secret to surviving spring break!

SNICKERS® has always been one of my favorites, it’s the candy that I quickly sneak from my kid’s Halloween stash each year before they notice. What’s really great about the delicious new SNICKERS® bars is that they are conveniently located at the CVS register, that way while you are checking out you can distract your kids, grab one, hand it to the cashier, give him that desperate glare so he won’t blow your cover, then as he hands it back you… swiftly sneak it into your purse for later. Then when you are home later that day and feel hungry and grumpy, you suddenly remember that delicious SNICKERS® bar in your purse, which is actually four little to go pieces! I can’t tell you how many times I have been caught by mt kids when I tried to sneak a bite out of a candy bar. These little bites are the ultimate solution to sneaking a treat and not risking the chance of having to share with your kids… and that my friends… is how you survive spring break! But seriously my fellow moms out there trying to survive spring break or have a spring break coming up, indulge on a SNICKERS®, sneak it and don’t feel guilty about not sharing because you certainly deserve a special treat all to yourself!
