One of the many amazing qualities about my oldest daughter is her love of reading… this kid is known at school at the girl that always has her nose in a book. When I was her age the school library was my favorite place to visit and I had a new chapter book every few days. I also love how much my daughter enjoys reading a large variety of books, she doesn’t stick to any particular theme. She recently made a nose dive into James Patterson’s latest children’s book, Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World. I encouraged her to head out to the yard and read under a tree, where she could enjoy the fresh air and an adventurous book.

Treasure Hunters features the Kidds on a dangerous adventure to Russia and through the arctic, where they are attempting to outrun the bad guys in their search for stolen treasure. These team of treasure hunting kids make it their mission to catch the thieves that stole a set of priceless paintings by Leonardo da Vinci and Rembrandt. This is truly one of those books that my daughter could not put down… one of those books that you can’t wait to get to the next page!

My daughter is a very independent reader and has never been very interested in reading to anyone out loud. However, witnessing her reactions, excitement and laughs while reading is always something special to watch. I enjoy listening to her tell me all about the book and what she thinks will happen next! Apparently this book was not shy on excitement, thrill and adventures… this was a book she really enjoyed and highly recommended.
