All the memories I have from my childhood consist of being outdoors, playing in the woods, camping, fishing, riding bikes, getting my hands dirty and coming home covered in mud. My mother knew the importance of family time and she was always encouraging my sisters and I to get outdoors and explore the beautiful world around us. Now that I am a proud mother to three beautiful children, I am trying my best to follow in my mother’s footsteps by allowing my children to create the same childhood memories. We are fortunate to have a very large backyard full of so much nature that the kids are not afraid to explore. My oldest daughter enjoys digging for earth worms, my son could spend all day gathering sticks and rocks and my sweet baby girl finds the grass between her toes to be entertaining.

We also enjoy visiting our local farmer’s market, getting ice cream at our local shop and having fun at the many gorgeous parks and playgrounds located in our community. We are so fortunate to live in such an amazing and beautiful community, the town puts a lot of effort into the park and ensuring they are completely family friendly. Living in metro Atlanta means we are just a short drive from the dozens of museums that our family love to visit. We also spend much of our summer at the lake where the kids splash in the water and build sand castles til dawn. The adventures don’t have to be extraordinary, they just have to be fun and full of love. I hope that when my children are grown they look back at their childhood and enjoy the memories of all of the adventures we had together.
