Our Visit to The Art Barn at Morning Glory Farm
I am beating myself up over the fact that I have not visited this place sooner! A friend recently invited us along to a field trip at The Art Barn and it by far exceeded our expectations! We have visited a few local farms in the past, but this experience was one of the best. There are so many reasons to love this place and we are here to share with you just a few!
The Art Barn is Atlanta’s Best PRIVATE Barnyard & Farm. They offer private parties, birthday, group events, farm to table field trips, summer camps, afterschool classes, playdates, and more! The farm is ocated conveniently in Hickory Flat, just minutes from Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Woodstock & Cumming, also a easy drive from the city of Atlanta.
We got to experience a playdate at The Art Barn, which is a 3 hour experience at the farm. When you first arrive at The Art Barn you will need to get signed in and pay. You will then be split up into groups where you will travel to different locations on the farm together. Our first stop was at the picnic tables where the amazing Farmer Sue showed us how to paint an adorable pig.
Our next stop was in front of the barn where the kids learned about different types of hens and roosters… they even got to hold and touch some!
There is sort of a central area of the farm where there are several animals you can interact with… and this is where our next journey began! We learned about the donkeys, sheep and goats of the farm. The children then had the opportunity to brush the animals and just spent some one-on-one time with them.
These donkeys were absolutely amazing… so sweet with the children and I swear we could have just spent all day with them! Just look at the adorable face!
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this farm, everyone was so welcoming and enthusiastic about educating us on the animals. Everyone we interacted with was clearly passionate about what they do and treated each child with kindness.
The animals on this farm have clearly been exposed to lots of curious kids and are very calm and gentle.
We even had the opportunity to meet the farm’s newest member! Baby Winston (as my children liked to call him) was abandoned at a local veterinarian’s office and The Art Barn graciously provided him with an amazing new new home and life. This little guy was a pygmy goat and quite possibly the cutest goat we ever laid eyes on!
My oldest enjoyed interacting with this adorable sheep duo and they equally enjoyed the attention. I was so impressed with how they interacted with her!
Have I mentioned how much we loved the donkeys!?
Seriously tho… I am contemplating selling my house in the suburbs so I can buy a farm with a dozen or so of these amazing donkeys!
Literally everything on this farm was adorable! During our field trip we also visited the garden, were introduced to their honeybee station, go on a hayride, enjoy a relaxing lunch while watching the bunnies and chickens frolic around the farm. As if our day couldn’t get any better… my two youngest kids were first in line to ride the horses!
I can not say enough good things about The Art Barn! Farmer Sue was one of the kindest people I have ever met and she put so much enthusiasm into making sure we enjoyed our visit! I highly recommend that you make a visit to their farm, you will no be disappointed!
