OnePiece: The Original Norwegian Jumpsuit Review

A special thanks to OnePiece for providing the Miss Frugal Mommy blog with a free product in exchange for an honest review!

What is this OnePiece Jumpsuit you speak of?

Well let me tell you!

“OnePiece is a unique lifestyle leisurewear, all about the chill out. OnePiece is a loose fit jumpsuit produced from the highest quality cotton—silky soft, and an absolute dream to wear. Jump in your OnePiece after work, while studying or recovering from a hangover. This is the ultimate garment for all lazy days.”

Want To Know More About How the OnePiece Was Created?

Here is the short version told directly from the three men that created this fantastic product!

Early one Sunday morning in 2007, Henrik, Knut and Thomas, three Norwegians in their twenties, fantasized about the ultimate chill-out wear that would be perfect for a lazy day at home. They all agreed on the merits of the sweatsuit for recovering from a night on the town. “But without the tight waistband and the pressure to go jogging,” Thomas said. Knut had been staring at a light bulb when, eureka, it all became clear: “Why not sew together a hooded sweatshirt and a pair of sweatpants? Let’s make it so big that no one in their right mind would think of working out.”

“If we can skip the waistband, I’m all for it,” said Thomas. “But how are we going to get into it?” “No sweat,” replied Henrik, “we’ll just put in a big zipper.” And with that the OnePiece Jump In was born. The three friends dropped everything and invested all their savings to realize an idea they believed was unique and brilliant. They made the loose-fitting, all-in-one hooded sweatsuits in soft, thick cotton fleece in a wide variety of colours and patterns…

My Review

You see me mention this all of the time in my reviews, presentation means a lot when it comes to receiving products. The time and effort a company puts into making sure that your package arrives in an extraordinary way says a lot about their priorities toward the customer. I have done my share of online clothes shopping and they always arrive in a simple plastic wrapping, so I was not expecting anything more than that as I anticipated the arrival of my new OnePiece. To my surprise, it came in a very thick plastic package with buttons that snapped the package shut. I know that is a horrible description, but I have never had any type of clothing sent to me like this and it was a very nice way to package it! If you take a quick peak at the collage down below, that white package is what the OnePiece arrived in. Pretty spiffy in my opinion!

I just so happened to try the OnePiece on( for the first time) during the worst cold I have had in many years. My first impression when I put it on was “wow, this is amazingly comfortable” and I spent the remainder of the day lazing around in it. When I first gave the OnePiece a try, I took a walk around the house to see how it felt “on the go.” I’m a pretty petite person and fitting normally into clothes doesn’t come easy, so I was a little disappointed when the crotch hung awkwardly low… but then I sat down… and realized what a great perk that actually was! You know when you sit down in your new pair of comfortable sweat pants and immediately have to fix them to get comfortable because they just bunched up in every awkward way possible? Yeah… that does not happen with the OnePiece! You can literally plop down on the couch and lay there as is, all the wiggle room means you no longer have to spend five minutes getting comfortable. After spending the past three days being extremely sick and becoming close friends with my couch, I would have to say that the OnePiece has taken my comfort level to 100%. I could go on and on about how comfortable and amazing these are to wear around the house when you indulge in lazy or sick days! I had heard quite a bit about how great the OnePiece Jumpsuits are (prior to owning a pair) and they have lived up to their reputation for sure! I had heard quite a bit about how great the OnePiece Jumpsuits are (prior to owning a pair) and they have lived up to their reputation for sure! How fun would it be to wear fancier onesies, maybe some animal onesies?

  1. Hello Miss!

Thank you for sharing your review.
I purchased mine in the NYC store. I traveled 12hrs by car, 1.5hr by train and walked +1hr to the store. I was so excited! At first I was a bit disappointed that they were very limited on XS OnePiece. I am 120 lbs and 5’6″. The XS fit and was long enough I would not have to pull the sleeves or legs down. After some help I decided on the original in gray. Loved the space and comfort!
Now I am back in my home state. After wearing it for 3 days in NJ, I wanted to wash it. I followed the directions on the label and I had not worn it in over a week. Today I just put it on. Did this happen to you? I can definitely feel that it has shrunk and wasted +$120 on a jumpsuit. 🙁 I went to the main site and noticed they do not post reviews. I should’ve researched before making the purchase.
    Thanks!
    /Brenda

  2. I now own 7 onepices. I’m from Toronro Canada and I love them. I wish I could go to work in them. It’s true the packaging is very hi quality and I had to make an exchange for 2 that he gave as present and dealt with someone named Runar it was easy and fast. I hope they come up with new colours and a spring line….
