The Pfizer Pediatric Platform products, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. All thoughts and reviews are my own. #SickJustGotReal

Spring is very much in the air here in Georgia and we are just weeks away from beach weather and many adventures. We don’t often associate warmer weather with colds and fevers, but after being a mother for almost 10 years I can tell you with full confidence that children experience cold season even during the summer. My kids always get at least one really bad cold during the summer. Everyone is so anxious to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoor fun, which means lots of little hands spreading germs. No matter our best efforts to stay healthy during the summer, you can’t always protect your kids from the icky germs that get them sick. Kids are exposed to germs almost everywhere they go; the playground, birthday parties and playdates. There’s always at least one kid at the party with a cough and/or cold. Before you know it, no matter what you do to stop your kids from being exposed to cold germs, sick eventually happens.

You never know when a cough, cold or fever is going to strike, that is why it is ideal to be prepared! I have personally found that you can never be too prepared… that last thing you want is for a child to wake up sick in the middle of the night and not have the proper supplies on hand. Pfizer Pediatric wants to help parents get prepared this season and one of my favorite stores has all of the Pfizer Pediatric products you need to fight against cold season… Target of course! There are some great products that are going to help tackle even the ickiest of symptoms! Let’s take a look at some products I highly recommend you purchase for cold season!

Infants’ and Children’s Advil®:  Ease your child’s aches and pains, while reducing their fever fast with Children’s Advil®, a great solution for kids as young as 2 and up to 11. This is the medicine pediatricians use most for their own kids’ fevers. Children’s Advil® comes in several great-tasting flavors, including: Sugar-free Dye-free Berry, Bubble Gum, Grape, Blue Raspberry, Fruit and Dye-Free White Grape flavors. There’s also Infants’ Advil® White Grape, which provides unsurpassed fever relief with a syringe for easy dosing for children 6-23 months.

Children’s Robitussin® provides soothing action and cough control with some formulations lasting up to 8 hours (for ages 6-12 years). Formulated just for kids, Children’s Robitussin® DM Day/Night Pack (Children’s Robitussin® Cough & Chest Congestion and Children’s Robitussin® Nighttime Cough) non-drowsy daytime formula helps break up chest congestion, while the long-acting nighttime formula relieves coughs and runny noses to help kids get the rest they need.

Children’s Dimetapp® provides great-tasting cold-fighting power and is the #1 pharmacist recommended brand for children’s cough & cold symptoms(3) (for ages 6+). All in a great tasting grape flavor, Children’s Dimetapp® Cold & Cough tackles a child’s most bothersome stuffy and runny noses, all while working to relieve cough.

*It is important to remember to always read and keep the cartons for complete warnings and dosing information on Pfizer Pediatric Platform products and to use as directed.

We decided last minute to go on vacation to Florida for Thanksgiving break, as it was only a 7 hour drive from Georgia. My kids are overall very healthy kids that rarely get sick, however… while packing our bags, my instincts told me to pack some Children’s Advil®. Well a long drive with three kids required many stops and we frequented more rest stops than I can recall. We clearly encountered some nasty germs during one of our stops because one day into our trip and the youngest two were sick with very high fevers! I was SO thankful that I have packed the Children’s Advil®, we ended up using the entire bottle after three days of fevers. I can not emphasize enough how important it is to be prepared because kids are always picking up germs.

  1. I learned that you can view common childhood illnesses reported in your area to see what’s going around, so you can prepare accordingly. That is neat feature! Thanks!

  2. I just learned a trick from preventing slips, by using a hot glue gun and putting some on the bottom of the socks..

  3. I learned that you can make slip free socks to prevent any tumbles from slipping and sliding with hot glue on the soles of fuzzy socks!!! What a great idea!
