Just a few weekends ago my daughter hosted a party at out home with a few of her friends and some of their younger siblings. With so much awareness these days when it comes to gluten intolerance, I found myself overwhelmed with what I would serve for snacks. Neither myself or any of my family has ever needed to be kept on a gluten free diet, however I know a very long list of people who have. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for parents to bring their child to a party and their little one be the only kid that can’t enjoy the delicious treats. With that in mind, I wanted to make sure that each and every child could enjoy the snacks at our party and no one would feel left out. I decided to whip up a batch of The Pure Pantry oatmeal spice cookies, which comes in a convenient pouch, just add eggs, butter and vanilla and you are ready to mix. I made these the morning of the party, allowed them to cool on the counter, then served them on a dish as soon as guests started to arrive. I am not exaggerating when I say that these cookies were a hit at the party. I had planned on taking some pictures of everyone enjoying them at the party, but they were consumed so incredibly fast that I didn’t even realize the kids has eaten them all! Kids do not lie when it comes to food and they could not get enough of these cookies. A friend of mine had her seven month old there, whom has never had any interest in food, up until that afternoon. He managed to sneak a bite of his three year old brothers cookie and was screeching for more, his mother could not feed him fast enough. It was so wonderful seeing how much the kids enjoyed the cookies and knowing that they were healthy and safe for every kids was a great feeling!

With the holidays just around the corner, it’s time to start preparing for big events such as Thanksgiving. I am by no means a baker, nor do I enjoy it very much and it seems like I am always destroying a perfectly good dessert. With a pack of old fashioned chocolate chip cookie mix in one hand, I decided to test them out with the kids and see how they would turn out. All I needed was butter, vanilla and an egg… mix it up and place the dough on cookie sheets. These scrumptious cookies came out of the oven light and fluffy, I was amazed at how good the texture came out. With so much healthy ingredients, I was somewhat expecting them to taste a bit bland or plain. However, that was far from the case and they tasted just like a regular batch of cookies, if not better! I am very fond of how fluffy they are, I prefer that much more than a hard/crunchy cookie. Even after sitting out on a plate for a few hours, they maintained that light and fluffy texture. The kids could not wait to get a second cookie at dinner time, they were loved by everyone who tried them!

I am overall very impressed with The Pure Pantry products and thankful to have found a company that provides baking products that are both delicious and safe for all our friends and family. There will be no stress this year during the holidays because I have found a company that allows me to serve my guests something that they all can enjoy, even if they are on a gluten free diet!
