Fun & Simple Fall Baking With Kids

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Pillsbury™. The opinions and text are all mine. #DoughboySurprise

My children love being outdoors, they are the type of kids that could literally be in the yard from dawn until dusk! So you can only imagine how frustrated they get when they are stuck indoors on a rainy day. There is something about cold rainy days that brings the baker out in me, and I often find that we lean towards activities that involve baking. Baking with kids is generally easy, I simply have them help me with mixing the ingredients and filling the baking pans. There is only one step of baking goods with the kids that I dread and that is the decorating! Handing the kids a butter knife and frosting to decorate cookies seems like a simple enough task, but it always ends up being a ginormous mess with lots of cleaning up at the end. However I have recently discovered a game changing product that has made rainy day baking and decorating simple and fun for all!

While shopping at Food Lion, I came across these amazing NEW Pillsbury™ Filled Pastry Bag and my immediate thought was… genius! This will make fall rainy day baking with kids so much easier. The Pastry Bag is available in 3 delicious flavors (vanilla, chocolate fudge, and cream cheese) and with the built-in star tip, you can easily decorate in 3 fun designs: stars, rosettes, and waves.

I have children ages 3 to 11 whom were all able to easily use the Pastry Bag. All you need to do is push the frosting toward the star tip and twist the top of the Pastry Bag to frost your cookies and other treats. This product makes frosting our favorite treats so easy and fun for our entire family!

After we were done baking mini brownie bites, sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies, the kids were anxious to create their own treats. I encouraged them to use their imaginations and create their own style treats.  I was so impressed with how they turned out, they did a really great job and had a lot of fun.

I think the chocolate chip cookie sandwich with frosting in the middle was my favorite of all the treats, what a great idea!

With cooler weather ahead and more time being stuck indoor with kids, now is the time to find ways to keep the family entertained. If you are looking for a simple and fun fall baking idea that the whole family can participate in, I highly recommend the Pillsbury Filled Pastry Bags!
