Everything You Need To Know About Potty Training
This post and giveaway were made possible by iConnect and Pampers Easy Ups. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.
I am officially one month into potty training my youngest and it has suddenly hit me that this is the final time I will be diapering a baby! After successfully potty training two children already, I feel much more confident and less stressed about it than the other times. This potty training journey with my daughter Adeline has been fun and full of special moments. I am so thrilled to share with you not only our journey, but everything you need to know about potty training your child!
Is Your Child Ready For Potty Training?
The first step in your journey is to determine if your child is actually ready to begin potty training. Starting them when they are not quite ready is only setting them up for failure and can have some devastating repercussions. So take a moment to look through these six sings to determine if you are ready to begin potty training:
- Your child doesn’t like a wet or dirty diaper
- Your child likes to take the diaper off and doesn’t want to keep one on
- Your child takes interest in seeing others use the toilet
- Your child tells you he or she is going #1 or #2
- Your child wants to wear underwear like everyone else
- Your child is able to take off and pull on clothing
If you have said yes to all 6 of these signs, then you are ready to begin the potty training journey! So now it’s time to move onto the next step and make a list of everything you need.
Transitioning your child into underwear is a really big deal for every toddler! While the end result is rewarding, the road to get there can be difficult for both parents and kids. No two children will potty train the same, every child’s journey is different, so keeping it simple and laying the proper foundation are essential for success. That starts with the very first pair of training underwear!
The new Pampers Easy Ups are successfully helping us through this journey because they look, fit and feel more like real underwear, with the outstanding leak protection that you’d expect from Pampers. A few features to keep in mind is that they fit like underwear (360 degree stretchy waistband), they feel like underwear (cottony feel on the outside), they look like underwear (Thomas the Train and Dora the Explorer graphics all the way around the pant) and have the proper protection when accidents happen (which they absolutly will and that is OK!)
In my opinion, Pampers Easy Ups are the easiest way to underwear and help your little one succeed during their potty training journey. Starting them off in real underwear is risky because they are going to have accidents and many children get upset and lose their confidence when their accidents result in a big mess. That is why providing them with Pampers Easy Ups is the best option, they can still pull them up and down like underwear, have the comfort of underwear, but the ability to contain their accident when they happen.
Pampers is currently offering a coupon that you can print at home for $2 off 1 pack of new Pampers Easy Ups Training Pants. Help make the potty training process easier and more affordable with this high-value coupon. Stock up now and clip the Pampers Easy Ups coupon!
I am grateful for the opportunity to share part of our potty training journey with you! I created a video to share with you all, which captured the excitement of welcoming my daughter to the journey of “Underwear Training.” I encourage you to find fun and unique ways to give your toddler the gift of their first pair of training underwear, this is a great way to set them up for the exciting journey ahead! use a treat as an incentive and use a potty that the child is comfortable with
One of my best potty training tips, do not try to force the issue. Every child is different and it will go easier when they are ready. 🙂
Make it a big deal when they go in the potty! Clap, sing, anything to help them celebrate.
Using a reward system has always been helpful.
My best potty training tip is to give rewards and encouragement. It really helps with potty training.
For boys, using Cheerios as targets can work.
My tip is to wait until they are ready to train, it goes much easier.
I used small treats for when my son would use the bathroom.
My tip is to try to train in the summer when less clothes are necessary.
My tip is be patient and steady at training.
My tip is to make a chart and add a sticker for every success.
I used a reward system to help my child with potty training
My best advice is to always show encouragement and not pressure your child.
My tip is to make sure you reward them for going potty.
We put a little box of books next to the potty chair and will sit many times throughout the day and read a story. Helps get him sitting in hopes that something will happen 🙂
mine is to make sure your kiddo is ready to do it and then be consistent
My best advice is to set a timer to remind you to take baby to try and potty every 30-45 minutes. So easy to forget.
Reward system works the best in my household, I use stickers to encourage my kids.
My daughter likes to get paw patrol stickers when she does potty
we are learning to ALWAYS have a change of clothes 🙂
My little guy is almost 2 1/2 so we are about to start! He’s very interested in it and loves to sit on the potty.
I made up a “going potty” song. My daughter’s absolutely LOVE it!
Stay patient, Stay consistant and use a reward system.
My best potty training advice is to use a good reward system of something you know your child would be so excited to earn. My oldest grandson was thrilled to get 1 M&M after each potty success. It kept him motivated.
we used a timer to help to get on a schedule on when to use the bathroom
My potty training advice is pretty simple.
Lots of praise and patience always did it for us.
thank you
The potty training advice the I could give is: wait for all of the signs that they are ready and make no plans for a weekend and put them in underwear. There will be a few accidents but at the end of the weekend they will be potty trained. Except for nighttime that may come later
give treats and LOTS of praise !:)
it works trust me!
my best potty training advice is to let them do it at their own pace. they will show the interest when they are ready.do’t force them!
My best advice is to wait until they are ready.
I like to train in warmer months because of less clothing for them to deal with.
THe best tip that worked for my first little one was to use a reward system – we used stickers and tracked his progress on a chart.
My recommendation is to wait until the kiddo is ready
My best advice is to have continued patience through the potty training process and to use some type of reward system.
