 My Review

My children have always been huge fans of Clifford and they enjoy watching the show together all of the time. So it was no surprise that they found themselves instantly in love with one of the newest Clifford Science Kits. Both children really enjoy learning about animals and I knew this would be a great way for them to show off their knowledge of animals, while picking up so new facts. After opening up the kit and overlooking the contents, I found myself extremely surprised by the amount of activities included. The kit comes with a book full of experiments, crafts and ideas to assist your child in learning about animals in a fun and engaging way.

The first activity we decided to try out was the animal habitat one. The children had six window decals of habitats and 12 animals to place in their proper place. The book gives parents ideas on what to ask the children and ideas to engage them in conversation. We talked about what type of climate each habitat was and then took turns placing the animals next to their habitat.

We then moved on to the activity about animals and their camouflaging abilities. We cut out a few animals that were included in the kit and then searched the house for a place where the children thought would be a good place for their animal to camouflage. My son found the perfect spot in my plant pot where his little green iguana could easily camouflage, he was so proud of himself!

My daughter was already very familiar with the difference between carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and could not wait to show me what she knew. The activity book shows three bowls in which your child is asked to place the little plastic animals with the appropriate bowl. My daughter really enjoyed placing the animals with their correct bowl and then researching the ones we were not quite sure about. In addition to that great activity, we continued on to a page that talked about metamorphoses. The children took turns placing stickers in the proper place of each cycle while I discussed with them the facts.

Overall I was really impressed with this kit and am looking forward to completing the additional activities. There is so many more activities left to do; making a bug habitat, doing an animal scavenger hunt, making play dough (just to name a few!) Having fun and learning, what more could you ask for?

  1. this sounds amazing, i love how the children seem so into this project, love it thanks for the review and share 😉

  2. This is the coolest kit! My daughter would love this. She loves science, she loves Clifford, and she loves learning, so this is the perfect combination. Thanks so much for the info!

  3. I have always liked the science kits since I was a little kid and my parents bought me a chemistry set and several other type of science kits. When I was 12, one of the renters in our motel/apartments that was going to college in town gave me all of his college textbooks and I really enjoyed learning college-level physics, chemistry, and math when I was still in Jr. High. I am hoping to win this for a friend of mine that I used to work with. His name is Clifford and he said he was teased when he was growing up with the Clifford the Big Red Dog name. He has a 4-5 year-old daughter now and I would be giving this to him for his daughter since he is raising her by himself after his wife walked out on them a couple years ago.

  4. This ia great. My four year old is always full of questions about animals and things like this, he would love to do these activities! If I don’t win the giveaway I might just have to invest in one of these kits. 🙂 And i’ve always been a huge fan of Clifford since I was little!
