5 Places In Your Home You Should Change In the New Year

The new year is approaching and before we know it, it’s going to be 2022. After a somewhat strange couple of years, it’s time to change things up as life starts on a new trajectory. The best place to start your changes is in your home where you have control over the space and how you want it to make you feel. This is a certified way to help you see positive changes in the new year. Here are five places in your home you can consider changing to start off the new year.

Your Bedroom

This is a perfect place to start because the bedroom is where we begin and end our days. It may help to switch up the decor in your room by changing pictures around, changing the colors of the wall, or changing the location of the furniture. By making these affordable or even free moves, you can change the way you see things by seeing things differently when you wake up.

You can put wallpaper up, you can frame new and updated photos for the walls, and the small action of putting your bed in a new location so that you can see the morning light from a new perspective can help you feel you are making progress in life and you are not stuck in a rut.

The Bathroom

After the bedroom, you can then head to the bathroom, another place where we start and end our days. The best change you can make here is to find ways to keep your bathroom organized. If the first thing you see when you leave your bedroom is an organized space, you will feel more clear and more focused as you wake up.

Design your bathroom in calming colors that will help you come to your day with an ease that will help you start on the right foot. Blues and greens are soothing as are whites that make everything seem clean and free.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of the home, and having the right look for your kitchen will make it feel warm and energized. We spend most of our living time in the kitchen. Eating meals, making meals, entertaining guests, and having deep family conversations all happen in this space. Making it feel like it truly is the best place in the house requires the right colors and textures.

Warm colors like yellows and oranges make your kitchen feel cozy. Having furniture that is comfortable invites people to sit longer and spend more time together. A quick coat of paint over the walls and cabinets can change things up as well as photos and centerpieces that make the room stand out.

The Patio

The patio is another gathering place for friends and families. It’s a nice spot to get some fresh air, and in the warmer months it’s the extension of the kitchen. Designing an outdoor living space can be tricky if you don’t have a lot of space, but it is not impossible.

Having a nice grill can really make the space look inviting as you can prepare full meals outside. Having a durable patio set is also essential in making the area comfortable so that people will want to sit and stay. That is made easier with a firepit and some kind of entertainment like a radio or television. This can all be accomplished for a small price.

The Living Room

The living room is usually the first room you will see when you walk through your front door. This should be the space that speaks to you the most. After a day out of the house, you want to come home to warmth and love. Decorate your entry walls with pictures of the family to remind you of your good fortune in life.

You will also want to put out things that not only speak to your personality, but things that also remind you of happiness like your favorite collectibles and artwork that truly makes your heart sing. Everytime you come into your home you will be met with positive emotions that will make your home your favorite place on Earth.

It may take some time to get everything together and change everything, but all of the ways you can make your home better for the new year won’t cost any money or just a little bit of money. It doesn’t take big purchases or large changes to really make you feel your best self this new year.
